Projects, Studies, & Additional Services

NRPC participates in a variety of transportation projects and studies for individual communities and the region as a whole. For example, NRPC maintains a regional travel demand forecasting model, which is used to predict changes in traffic volumes based on future assumptions or planned projects. One primary use of the model is to forecast traffic for the Long Range Transportation Plan and to analyze air quality benefits of certain transportation-related projects. NRPC is also able to use the model to examine local issues, often down to the city-block level. In addition to modeling, NRPC can conduct a number of transportation studies communities, such as parking studies, signal warrant analyses, and intersection analyses.
