Community Profile:
Mont Vernon, New Hampshire, is located in the wester portion of the Nashua Region and is bordered by Amherst to the east, Lyndeborough to the west, and Milford to the south.  Mont Vernon was originally the northwest parish of Amherst, but residents protested, saying their homes were too far from the courthouse in Amherst to make it easy to travel to meetings. Mont Vernon was incorporated in 1803 and was likely named in honor of George Washington's Virginia estate. Mont Vernon had a total of 762 residents in 1810 and 2,380 in 2006.

iTRaC Project Overview:
In addition to conducting large-scale special projects, NRPC’s iTRaC program has recently begun to assist communities with their smaller-scale research needs.  iTRaC can help boards shorten their “to-do” lists by conducting research on pertinent planning topics and presenting the findings in a ready-to-use format.

The Town of Mont Vernon submitted a research request for additional information to help them determine the pros and cons of having all new roads throughout town be publicly owned rather than allowing private roads and common driveways.
