Aesthetics & Character
Wilton is a NH Main St community so it is no surprise that Main Street is a centerpiece of the town. Considerable attention and resources have been focused here and current Main Street improvement projects include sidewalk reconstruction, road paving, traffic calming measures such as raised crosswalks, and beautification projects. The Souhegan River runs parallel to Main Street, providing a picturesque backdrop.
Multiple Uses & Connectivity
Buildings along Main Street represent commercial, municipal, and residential uses and include the historic Town Hall, Town Hall Theater, and Gregg Free Library. There are also many unique businesses along Main St such as Putnam’s, a clothing, gifts, & general store established over 100 years ago. Main Street hosts several community events each year, including the Harvest Fair, historical haunted house tour, and Downtown Wilton Holiday Stroll. For those wishing to learn more about Main Street, guided tours are available. Main Street runs through center of town, providing easy access to Rt. 31 & Rt. 101.
