Monument Square ~ Hollis

Aesthetics & Character
Flanked by the Town Hall, Hollis Social Library, Congregational Church, and Always Ready Engine House, Monument Square is much more than a transportation route; it represents the history of Hollis. A host of social events take place here throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival, Town Band concerts, Apple Festival, Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale, Library Annual Book Sale, and Memorial Day parade.  In warm weather, Monument Square provides a good resting stop for walkers, runners, and picnic goers.  Historic buildings and surrounding farmland give Monument Square its distinct character and quintessential small town New England feel.

Multiple Uses & Connectivity
Buildings along Monument Square represent commercial, residential, and municipal uses and both motorize and non-motorized forms of transportation are used to get around.  Monument Square connects to Depot Road and Main Street, which are primary access roads in and out of Hollis.
