Aesthetics & Character
From town recreation fields and sporting events to parades and community pride festivities, Milford and Main Streets in Brookline play host to a variety of activities throughout the year. There’s the Christmas Tree lighting celebration, Old Home Days, Fire Department Ribfest, and Treasures of Brookline just to name a few. Even when there aren’t any organized activities going on, chanced are you’ll run into someone you know out walking, biking, or running. Architectural variety, reconstructed sidewalks, uniformity in building setbacks, and plenty of greenspace all contribute to Milford and Main Streets’ aesthetical appeal. Houses and yards are well maintained in this older established neighborhood and the streets blend nicely with the surrounding environment. Big Bear Mountain provides a beautiful natural background, the Nissitissit River flows just behind Main Street, and elm trees are returning to the corridor. |
