Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative
RGGI is the 1st mandatory, market-based effort in the US to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  10 northeastern and mid-Atlantic states will cap and reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector 10% by 2018.  States sell the emission allowances through action and invest proceeds in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other clean energy technologies.

NH Building Codes Review Board

Building Code Compliance Program
The 2009 International Energy Code and IRC, IBC, IPC, IMC, and other codes went into effect in New Hampshire on April 1, 2010. GDS Associates, OEP’s contracted subrecipient, has started energy code workshops around the state for code officials, builders, designers, and others, to give these professionals the tools and information to improve their understanding of the energy code and therefore their compliance rates. They have developed a great website for information about the trainings, as well as other relevant resources. They are also laying the groundwork for the Roadmap to get to 90% statewide energy code compliance by 2018.

Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. 

Energy Star  
Certain types of commercial and manufacturing buildings are eligible to receive the Energy Star rating, signifying that they use less energy, are less expensive to operate, and cause fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their peers.
