NH101A CORRIDOR MASTER PLAN & IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM |
|
The City of Nashua has entered into a contract with NRPC to manage the engineering and design phase of the widening of NH 101A from Celina Avenue to Somerset Parkway in Nashua. The RFP and procurement process began in November of 2005. The contract has just been signed between the City of Nashua and McFarland-Johnson Inc. and data collection and preliminary engineering are now currently underway.
Over the next year, NRPC staff will continue working closely with the City of Nashua and McFarland-Johnson Inc. to manage the engineering and design and environmental elements of the widening. A public process will be conducted to obtain input from landowners, residents and travelers of the corridor culminating in an official public hearing. The final products will include an engineering report and preliminary design plans as well as an environmental report in support of a Categorical Exclusion. Work will be conducted on the project through the fall of 2007.
For details about the widening of NH 101A, please read the Draft Purpose and Need statement at the top of this page. In addition to discussing the project purpose and need, this document provides details on highway capacity, transit, bicycles and pedestrians, and access management. This dynamic document may change slightly as work on the project progresses.
