NH 101A Widening The City of Nashua has entered into a contract with NRPC to manage the engineering and design phase of the widening of NH 101 A from Celina Avenue to Somerset Parkway in Nashua. The RFP procurement process began in November of 2005 and a contract was signed between the City of Nashua and McFarland-Johnson Inc. Since this time, the Nashua Regional Planning Commission has worked closely with the City of Nashua and McFarland-Johnson to manage the engineering and design and environmental elements of the widening. During the peliminary design phase a public process was conducted to obtain input from landowners, residents and travelers of the corridor. This culminated in a public hearing on August 18th, 2008 followed by a meeting of the appointed 101 A Special Committee on February 17, 2009. At this meeting, the Special Committee voted to proceed with the final design and construction phases of the project. Final design is anticipated to begin in Spring of 2010.
